I've been driving my e89 Z4 for 8 years! Yes, 8 years 🙌🏼. This from someone who used to change car every 18 months. I have the 2.5 straight six and the only thing I've had to have changed in 8 years was a busted coil pack. 😏 I was thinking of changing to the new one, but tbh after having a good look at one here, I think I'll just keep driving mine for another 8 years. 🎉😂😂

I had the factory fitted Bridgestone RE050A1 run flat tyres on my 2016 Z4. I needed new tyres and wasn’t sure what to buy. I checked out the RE050A1 tyres and read many lousy reviews so decided to search for something different. I ended up going for the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Zero Pressure tyre at a total cost of £680 for 4 tyres. The Pilot Sport 4S are not available for my 18” wheels so discounted them. I also read that the Pilot Sport 4S are generally for track work etc. I kept with the run flat tyres for safety reason as they are very safe should you have a tyre blow out at speed. I also read that you need to advise your insurance company if moving away from run flat tyres.

Hey I am thinking if I should get the g29 or e89, I am not sure tho, because both designs are fine, I would pay 10 grands more for the g29 with maybe same or a little less kilometer, n new model, but I am a person, I don’t really need all the technical features except from front and back parking help, which I guess the e89 as well offers, but I Definetly prefer the seats of the g29 and overall the impression n vibe of the car is a bit more supreme, I guess. What is your opinion for 2024?:) Thank you!

All BMW Z4 E89's are 6 cylinder. I've had mine (3.0 l) for 8 years and still love it. Try driving it through a tunnel at 50, then drop it down into 3rd and plant your foot. Nice.

A beautiful looking car that has a design that has aged well. Those performance figures are disappointing though, you couldn’t even call that a sports car. Sometimes it’s not about the performance figures, it does look like a lot of fun and theatre.

The change from hardtop to softtop is a step in the wrong direction, i.e. one step backwards. The hardtop convertible has some significant advantages over a softtop one, and looks much better when closed.

Thanks for this video...I can almost feel the excitement over this car.. I must have one. Three years ago, I bought a used BMW 328i coupe. 6 cyl, 3 ltr. Very happy with it. (I did a road trip from Atlanta to Montana..about 2400 miles one-way. Wonderful trip.) A few months after I bought it..I saw a Z4 convertible and knew "This is for me!" It's beautiful! Now I know there's a Red Z4 out there...with my name on it.

While the iDrive with navigation looks cool, on a 12 year old or older car are you not worried about the replacement cost if it packs up? Not many of us keep a laptop or mobile that long as they break.

I own a E63 6 Series and never realised just how much the E89 Z4's rear looks like a baby 6 series. Same shape tailights and rear bumper lip. Still looks great and you clearly love your car.

I prefer the old one. it has longer wheelbase although length is shorter than g29. And it has lower height. In addition to that, e89 has hard top so it's more suited both for closed coupe style and convertible on exterior style wise.

No no no! The A45 is quicker and more powerful on PAPER, that's all, compared to the Audi S4 and S3 having owned both! My A45 is the biggest piece of Shite I have ever owned. Audi is far superior in so many ways!

Nope, the old one looks better than the new. It looks more sleek, has a more classic roadster look. The convertible hardtop is better in winter and overall it has a more sleek, eye-catching appeal.

I drove this version of the Z4 from 2013 to 2018 and miss it ever since. Fantastic car.

In March I purchased a 2014 Z4 35is Black w/ luggage interior. 1 owner w/23k and always garaged. 🎉Happy Birthday to me!🎉 This car is fun, fast and sexy. I drive w/the top down every chance I get. Even in the winter! I also have a '97 Z3 Roadster, soft top. Its night and day driving. I'm love my upgrade to Z4. Cheers!

I just bought this exact car a couple days ago

G29 only exists to fill a gap in their line up. The front looks feminine compared to the back. Like it was designed by 2 different designers who forgot to exchange notes. If the development cost wasnt shared with toyota, this car wouldnt exist. Because of this, its not even a hardtop convertible... but it handles well and is affordably priced. E89 has the classic lines and look like an interesting car. The chasis handling aint great, boot could be mistaken for a torture chamber, and it looks overly dated. However it honours the definition roadster better than the new one; compact, low, driver feels connected esp the 35i. Unfortunately BMW barely gave it a facelift 2013 when all the Fxx cars were out. E89 was manufactured up to 2016, so if you bought a later model it looks more like something from the 2000s inside and out. On the flip side it makes a good home project car. Ambient lighting, modern infotainment, digital cockpit, better seats, etc, can easily be fitted. If you really wanted you could change out the headlights, tail lights, change to M brakes, and add on a bodykit.

I like the smaller batch on the old one. It looks way much better on it.
